Kiwi Sport Badminton

LI: To play more badminton and try to get better at badminton.

Today at kiwi sport we did badminton. We were taught by Kevin (A master at badminton.) Kevin is amazing at badminton trick shots and other things. Kevin taught us how to use a racket and a shuttle. A shuttle is something you hit on the racket. Kevin taught us trick shots and how to hold the racket. Forehand and backhand.

I learned by listing and try my best at using the racket to hit the shuttle.

Graphs

LI: To investigate a range of addition and subtraction strategies.

Today I for my maths I did graphs. One of the graphs was a bar graph and the other was a line graph. I also had to do the title which was "Number Rolled On A Pair Of Dice" and also the labels which only was two. The two labels was "Number Of Times Rolled" and the other "Total Of Rolled Dice."

I learned by getting help from what was on the white board and also making sure the lines were straight by using the ruler.

Kiwi Sport Writing

LI: To revise recount writing.

Today for my writing I wrote about the first session in kiwi sport. This writing was about badminton because we played it in the hall for kiwi sport. I also had to reflect on how I felt. I also had to do paragraphs. Paragraphs does not mean just pressing enter two times. Every paragraph has to be a new idea. We also had to do "TREE," the "T" for "TREE" stands for title. The "R" stands for reveal. The first "E" stands for events and the second stands for ending.

I learned by using "TREE" and reflecting on how I felt.

Resilience

LI: To use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into a text.

Today for my reading I did resilience on a google slide. I had to get the information from the article about resilience to get the answers to the following things. For the main ideas it was three vital ideas, four very important ideas, and important ideas. For the summarising it was writing down twenty important words from the text and then choose the six most important words, then finally using the six words to sum up a text. For evaluating it was what was the text about, what are the facts I learnt, and what questions did I have after reading it.

I learned by reading the article and getting information to put on the slides.

Tables Conga

LI: To do all my can dos.

I played this game called “Tables Conga” on my can dos. It’s a game where there is numbers scattered around the map. You have to collect the numbers exactly like how the time tables go and try not to get caught by the Conga virus. For an example if I am doing the 7 time tables then I have to get the numbers 7, 14, 21, 28, and so far and so forth. It’s an awesome game and very fun.

Tables Conga can go up till the 9 times table and once you finished the times table you can go and proceed to the next times table. If you want you can switch your times tables by scrolling down and picking what kind of times table you want to do.Screenshot 2017-08-07 at 6.59.37 PM.png

Commenting

LI: To go around and comment on other peoples blogs and putting helpful advice in the comment.

Today I commented on Xavier's blog post. His blog post was about raz kidz and the book he was reading was "Inventions." He had a really good blog post and he also had a lot of information which was great.

I learned by going on the class site and clicking on his profile. Then it took me to all his blog posts. Then I looked for one that had a lot of information on it and had a bit of things to fix up. (Which I can say something like "I think you should have put this full stop here, I think you should have put this here.")

Raz Kidz

LI: To read all the books on raz kids and get to higher levels.

Raz Kids is a awesome reading game. Raz kidz is a game where you can read a lot of books to level up. Raz kidz can also encourage you to read bigger books like chapter books in real life. In raz kidz you also get stars from reading books. You get 50 stars from reading a book. There are also questions you can answer after the book. If you get all those questions correct on the first try you get 150 stars. Second try then you get 50 stars. You can use the stars to customize your robot and put accessories on it.

I learned by reading books and getting stars to give my robot awesome clothes. Along with trying to get to a higher level.

Keyboarding Drills

LI: To use the right fingers one the right keys so I don’t have to look at the keyboard.

I learned that if you do the keyboarding drills with the right fingers then you will be able to look at the screen instead of the keyboard.

I learned by using the right fingers on the right keys so I don’t have to look at the keyboard just the screen.

Maori

LI: To go and find all the locations i'm suppose to find by looking at the sheet of paper.

Today I did Maori. For my Maori I got a sheet of paper which had a list of locations I had to write down on my chromebook which had google maps open. I did this with a partner because there was a lot of locations. Sadly we both couldn't get everyone done but we got most of them.

I learned by putting the location on google maps to find the right locations.

Leadership

LI: To use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into a  text.

Today for my reading I did a QAR work sheet for leadership. I did this work with a partner so we can get it done a bit faster. This work was really fun to do although it was sort of difficult.

I learned by first reading the leadership article to get my QAR done. Also working with my partner like a team.

The Production

LI: To go and mark other peoples rubric by reading their writing.

Today I judged peoples writing by doing the rubrics. Its basically like judging peoples dances. A rubric is when you have seven columns saying R1, R2, R3, R3, R5, R6, R7. There is also a row of one word each going down the column. The first is "Ideas," then "Structure and Language," then "Organisation," "Vocabulary," "Sentence Structure," "Punctuation," and finally "Spelling"

I learned by reading other peoples writing and putting how good I think they did on the rubric.

Our Local Community Roles

LI: To write who I often see, see time to time, and write who I see  not that much.

Today for my inquiry work I did three circles. The first one was the "Inner Circle," the second circle was the "Middle Circle," and the last one was the "Outer Circle."

I learned this by making a google slide, then I made another slide. For me to get the circles I had to press "Insert," then I had to go on relation ships. Once I pressed the relation ships I then clicked the second one. I could choose how much "Areas" I wanted to do but I did three.

Kiwi Can

LI: To listen to the two teachers that taught us at kiwi can (Mr Malu and Miss Lilly)

Today at kiwi can Mr Malu and Miss Lilly taught us a new catchphrase. The catchphrase goes like this "R E S E C P T, find out what it means to me." We also did an energizer. It was writing down three things I like about myself, the three things I liked about myself or no one else knew I liked it. For the first one it was "I like to run" the second was "I like McDonald's" the third one was "I like sandwich's" For the activity it was when we walked around in a circle and when the music stops there has to atleast be someone standing next to the cone. Then everyone else has to sit down and the person that's standing has to say three things they like about each other.

I learned by listing and trying to do my best.

Raz Kidz

Leadership

LI: To use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper in a text.

Today for my reading I did work on a google slide. I had three slides to do in total. One with the main ideas second with the summarising and third with the evaluating. I did this with a buddy and it was really fun to do it together.

I learned by reading the leadership article before doing the work, I also thought about the questions  before writing them down. Just incase I don't get it right.
