Tables Conga

LI: To do my can dos.

I played this game called “Tables Conga” on my can dos. It’s a game where there is numbers scattered around the map. You have to collect the numbers exactly like how the time tables go and try not to get caught by the Conga virus. For an example if I am doing the 7 time tables then I have to get the numbers 7, 14, 21, 28, and so far and so forth. It’s an awesome game and very fun.  

Tables Conga can go up till the 9 times table and once you finished the times table you can go and proceed to the next times table. If you want switch your times table then you can scroll down and pick what kind of times table you want to do.Screenshot 2017-08-07 at 6.59.37 PM.png

Keyboarding Drills

LI: To do my keyboarding drills using the right fingers on the right keys.

Today I did my keyboarding drills. I learned that if you really train hard on putting your fingers on the right keys then you will have to just look at the screen. It will be like your fingers know what to do just by themselves. 

I learned by doing the keyboarding drills with the right fingers on the right keys so I don't have to look at the keyboard just the screen.

Kiwi Sport

LI: To throw a show put ball with the right actions.

Today at kiwi sport Andy showed us how to throw a show put ball. A show put ball is mostly made out of metal of wood, but ours wasn't. It was soft but if you get hit by it then it will hurt a lot. We first action we had to do was "Chin knee toe, all in a row." Then "Low to high, watch it fly!" Then we threw our show put ball. 

I learned by doing the right actions and trying my best to throw the ball as far as I could. It was really fun doing this at kiwi sport.

Kiwi Can

LI: To listen to the kiwi can teachers and follow instructions, along with using respect, and good attitude.  

Today at kiwi can there were two new teachers. At kiwi can we played a few games. The first game we played was where we had to do the actions and yell out what the animal will say. For example if the teacher said "Tiger" and he is pointing at me I would have to say "Roar!" As loud as I could while doing the actions. Then we played a game where we had to throw the hoop into cone. The cone next to us gave us 10 points, the coin a bit further gave us 20 points, and the cone furthest gave us 50 points. We ended up with 230 points. Then we did a GKQ. GKQ means general knowledge questions

I learned by listening to the two new teachers and doing the right things. Along with cheering and encouraging my teammates.

Voting Jigsaw

LI: To learn more things about elections and parties.

Today for my inquiry I did election work. This election work was where I had to search up parties I know and know the leader of the party and know the place the leader was born in by researching. 

I learned by clicking on the link to the doc and from there I started to look for parties and the leader along with where they were born.

Raz Kidz

LI: To stay focused and try to to read all the books on raz kidz to lever up.

I learned that raz kidz is an awesome reading game that can really encourage you to read bigger books like chapter books. It can also help you with words you don’t know and you want to know the meaning of.

I learned by reading all the books on raz kidz and then moving up to higher leveled books which is bigger with more words. Screenshot 2017-08-28 at 9.01.27 PM.png

Commenting

LI: To go and comment on peoples blogs to see if they have made a mistake. 

Today I commented on Xavier's blog post. he did a blog post about his sketchnote. 

I learned by going and seeing along with reading his blog posts. and when I saw he had made a mistake I commented and said about him needing to fix it up. 


Keyboarding Drills

LI: To use the right fingers one the right keys so I don’t have to look at the keyboard.

I learned that if you do the keyboarding drills with the right fingers then you will be able to look at the screen instead of the keyboard.

Sketchnote

LI: To create a sketchnote that shows your understanding.

Today I did a sketchnote for my reading. this work was when I had to define the meaning of the words "Change" "Vote" "Radical" and "Suffrage." Change means when you change your behavior or your habit of something. Vote means when you vote for elections for a person to become priminister of your country. Radical means when you see something amazing in your life or you see something you have never seen before. Suffrage means when you have the rights to vote.

I learned by making a copy of the drawing then using the boxes and arrows to define the meanings of the words "Change" "Vote" "Radical" and "Suffrage."

Maths Plan

LI: To create a piece of art using: rotation, translation, and reflection.

Today I did a maths plan on a design that we are going to do later on. We did this as a group, we first got some New Zealand designs then we got some other designs. This work was really fun to do as we also had a google doc to put in one of the pictures chosen from the drawing. 

I learned by getting one person from our group to share the drawing with us so we can put the photos in. then putting a picture in one of the boxes on the doc chosen from our drawing.

Raz Kidz

LI: To read all the books on raz kids and get to higher levels.

Raz Kids is a awesome reading game. Raz kidz is a game where you can read a lot of books to level up. Raz kidz can also encourage you to read bigger books like chapter books in real life. In raz kidz you also get stars from reading books. you get 50 stars from reading a book. there are also questions you can answer after the book. if you get all those questions correct on the first try you get 150 stars. second try then you get 50 stars. you can use the stars to customize your robot and put accessories on it. 

I learned by reading books and getting stars to give my robot awesome cloths. along with trying to get to a higher level.





Commenting On TPS Blogs


LI: To go and comment on Tamaki Primary School blogs.
Today I commented on Irys’s blog post, he did a blog post about maori and then under the maori language he translated it to english.

I learned by reading his work and then commenting on it.

Brainstorm

LI: To create a persuasive speech.

Today I did a coggle brainstorm. My topic for the brainstorm was “Animals At School.” I put reasons, an introduction, facts and opinions. This work did cause some thinking for the reasons and my opinions on why animals should be at school. I still worked my way through it with some help.

I learned by pressing the link on the writing site then it took me to the coggle, from there I did my reasons, opinion, facts and introduction.

Poem


LI: To write a poem about feelings.

Today I did a diamante poem. This poem was a bit confusing but I worked my way through it. If you don’t know what a diamante poem is then this is what it is. A diamante poem is a poem with 3 then 4 then 3 words, the 4 words is in the middle. It’s basically 1 2 3 phrase 3 2 1. It is also a shape of a diamond.

I learned by thinking and getting a bit of help to complete the poem. It was very fun to do this poem too.

Tables Conga

LI: To get to higher time tables like the 9 time tables in tables conga.

Today I played a game called tables conga. Tables conga is a game where there is numbers scattered around the map. Your goal is to get the right numbers which is the answer to whichever time table you're doing. For example if i’m doing the seven times table then I would first get the number seven, then fourteen, then twenty one and so far and so forth. You have to try to do that while there is conga virus's roaming around the map, don’t touch them or game over.



I learned by trying my best to get to the nine time table in less than a minute. If you would like to choose a different time table than just simply scroll down with your touch pad or mouse.




Sketchnote

LI: To create a sketchnote that shows your understanding.

Today I did a sketchnote for my reading. This sketchnote was where I had to define “Vote” “Change” “Suffrage” and “Radical.” It was really fun to do this work because I had arrows and boxes to write in to define the meaning of the words.

I learned by clicking on the link then it took me to the sketchnote work. From there I had to use the boxes and arrows from the bottom.

R.R.T

LI: Reflection, Rotation and Translation or Flip Slide Turn

Today I did reflection, rotation and translation for my maths. Reflection is when you have a reflection of yourself but backwards, if you have writing on your shirt then it will also be backwards. Rotation is when you have yourself or a object turn from the normal position to the side position, then the upside down position then again the side position, then back to the normal position. Translation is when there is yourself is standing in one spot, then you move or slide to a different spot, you will see that nothing changes, it's just the position your in that changes but nothing else, neither the way your facing.

I learned by first doing the digital version then the book version. The book version was a bit difficult for me to understand.

Poetry Poster

LI: To identify vocabulary and language features for use in writing a poem about feelings.


Today I did a poetry poster. I did this with a partner, it was very fun to do this poster. I first had to choose 1\20 poems. Then make a poster. We had to say if it had a number word or types of word or syllables and rhythm.  

I learned by making google draw and getting a poem to say if it had a number word or type of word or syllable and rhythm.

Tongan Language Week

LI: To learn how to say things in tongan and learn new things about tongan language.

Today I did tongan language week work. I did this with a partner in my group. It was pretty exciting to do this and I was really pump up to. I played a tongan color game and a tongan number game along with a tongan animal game.



I learned by remembering the colors of the tongan color game, then the animal tongan game.

Kiwi Can


LI: To try to listen and participate in kiwi can.

Today at kiwi can we talked about risk taking. We had to it in a group, Miss Latoya and Mr Malo came around and said to us “What risks did you guys come up with?” my risk was “When you are doing cross country or cross country training you feel very tired so you can’t run, as you have a feeling in your neck that means you can't run anymore you have the ability to walk.” that means you are taking a risk at your breath.

I learned by listening to Miss Latoya and Mr Malo. Along with thinking of a risk.

Kate Sheppard

LI: To make connections, identify main ideas, summarise, evaluate and synthesise facts through learning conversations.

Today I did a poster about Kate Sheppard. Kate Sheppard wanted to be a president for New Zealand too. She also had her own type of a 10$ bill. It was really fun doing the work and exiting to do so.

I learned by making a google draw and getting a picture of Kate Sheppard along with looking for facts about her.

Persuasive speech

LI: To create a persuasive speech.


Today I did three topics of persuasive writing. My three topics were phones should not be allowed at school, animals at school, and rubbish. It was fun doing the work and exiting to do it.

I learned by filling out the questions with my topic on the google doc.

Commenting

LI: To go and comment on people's blogs to see if they made a mistake and comment saying that they need to fix up that mistake.


Today I commented on Xavier's blog post. His blog post was about possums are bad. It was a poster about possums that he made. It was very interesting to read it and fun to comment on it.

I learned by going on the class sight and clicking on the profile link of whoever I want to comment on. Then go and see if they had made a mistake in any pieces of their work.

Raz Kids

LI: To focus and try to read all the books on raz kids to move onto higher levels.

I learned that raz kids is a great reading game for people who wants to be encouraged to read chapter books. Raz kids is a game where there is books for you to read. When you finish reading them you will be awarded with 50 stars. If you do a question all correctly on the first try then you get 150 stars. Stars can be used to design your robot and put cool things on it.

I learned by concentrating and trying to get all the books finished to I can move to higher levels.  

Keyboarding Drills

LI: To do the keyboarding drills using the right fingers on the right keys.

I learned that if you did the keyboarding drills using the right fingers on the right keys then you won’t have to look at you keyboard. You can just look at the screen. It is a bit difficult but if you practice and do it over and over again without looking at the keyboard then it will be easy.

I learned by doing it over and over again and mastering it so I don’t have to look at the keyboard just the screen.

Tables Conga

I learned that tables conga is an awesome time table game that can really help you out with your time tables. Tables conga is a game where there is numbers scattered around the map. The numbers are the numbers will be collected, that is the answer to which ever time table you are doing. For example if I am doing the seven time table I would like to pick up the seven of course. Then fourteen then twenty one and so far and so forth. You have to get the correct numbers while there is conga viruses trying to stop you from getting the numbers.  

I learned by doing my time tables quickly and focusing on getting all of them done.

3D Shapes

LI: Explore and describe faces, edges, and corners of 2D and 3D objects.


Today I did 3D shapes. For this session me and my group got a pieces of paper. We had to first cut the paper in half and then start folding. We had to cut it in half because not everyone got a piece of paper to fold a 3D shape. The 3D shape I folded was the “Pyramid”. I first had to cut the shape accurately out.
We did need sticky tape to fold it so I got a bit. The person that finished first had to make the extra shape.

I learned by making a “Pyramid” and then taking a picture of the shapes everyone in my group made.
