L.I To play a proper game of scatter ball.
Today I went to kiwi sport to play scatter ball properly. Instead of our normal kiwi sport coaches we had our teachers coach us. We went outside and sat down, we soon got a reminder of how to use a bat properly. We had to make sure our little knuckles were aligned, shoulders with apart, right hand on left (If left handed left hand on right), bat on right shoulder (again if left handed put the bat on the left shoulder). We then went on and played a proper game of scatter ball. We had to partner up and as a batter our partner had to pitch the ball and we had to hit it. We then moved on to another scatter ball game which was where we had to try to throw all three balls as far as we can and when the first ball is thrown the fielders can immediately go and run after it.
I am in Year 5 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ, I am in LS1 and my teachers are Mr Wong and Mr Ogilive

L.I To learn how to use a bat and run around the basis.
Today I went to kiwi sport. At kiwi sport Alison was there to teach us and give us a reminder on what we do when we get to a base and a reminder on how to use a bat: We needed to make sure our arms were shoulder with apart, small knuckles aligned, right hand on left hand (If you are left handed then you put it on top of your right hand), bat on right shoulder (Again if left handed put it on the left shoulder). We then went on played scatter ball, if you don't know what scatter ball is then this is it. There is two balls that you have to hit as a batter, (We hit one ball) then you have run and make sure you touch the basis or else you will have to go back on run on it again. The fielders job is to get the ball and put it on the cone before the batter makes it to home base. It was fun playing the game again but soon we didn't have much time left to do it again, instead we played a game called four corners, (With basis). Four corners is a game where there is four corners for you to pick on which one you want to go on. Then the person in the middle of the four corners points to a corner, if they point to you your out. You also have to be quiet and sneaky. On round two of four corners we had to walk backwards to the base, it was pretty tricky but I had fun with it. On round three we had to walk like a animal of our choice, I picked an elephant but I had to make sure I didn't make the sound effects. It was really fun to be an elephant and many different animals such as: Crabs, Giraffes, Chickens and many more. Soon we sadly ran out of time but we had fun regardless.
I learned by following the skills on how to use a bat and how to run around the base.

L.I To learn how to run around the basis and use a bat properly.
Today at kiwi sport we played the same game as last week, scatter ball. We first had to remember the batting skills which are: Shoulder with a apart, knuckles aligned, right hand on top of the left hand (left hand on top of right if left handed), and bat on right shoulder (again if left handed bat on left shoulder). This time when we played scatter ball the batters had to actually use the bat how they are suppose to, if they miss three or four times then they can hit it from the tee. The batters had to try to hit the ball while it was thrown to them. They could also stop on the base if the ball almost got to the home base. For the fielders there was a backstop that they had to throw it straight to. After scatter ball we played a game where we had to get in circle and we all had to have our hands on our knees. The thrower could also fake throw to make the other person flinch, if they flinch they are out. If they miss the ball they also are out.
I learned by using the batting skills and learning how to bat properly by hitting the ball when its thrown to me.

L.I To practice softball skills.
Today we went to kiwi sport to play some more scatter ball. We played scatter ball but it was a bit different, we had a glove and a base. The glove was for the fielders and the base was for the batters to run around. The batter could also stop on the base if they know that the balls are going to be returned, they can start running again when the other batter hits the balls. We also learned how to catch and throw the ball properly from fielding. For the first round we had to hit two balls but in the second we had to hit one ball.
I learned by fielding and learning how to catch and throw properly by practicing my softball skills.

L.I To learn how to pitch and run around the basis.
Today we went to kiwi sport to learn how to run around the basis and how to pitch. We first started off with running around the basis. We had to get into two teams and line up, we then had to run around the mats that was placed on the ground, we had to make sure we step on them to count as a full run. It was team versus team so it was challenging but very fun. We then went onto pitching, we had to stand behind the cones with the balls on it and buddy up. We soon used a technique which was a L shape with our arms then making a K with our leg up. We did throws and it was pretty fun.
I learned by practicing to pitch and running around the basis.

L.I To practice using a bat.
Today I went to kiwi sport to learn how to use a bat. To use a bat you need to make sure that you have your hands touching and your big and small knuckles aligned together, then your legs shoulder with apart, you then have to put your hand your most comfortable with on top of your other hand. We also played a game called scatter ball. Scatter ball is a game where there is two teams, one team is the batting team and the other is the fielding team. The batting team has a bat and they have to hit the ball as far as they can, once they have hit the two balls they have to run inside of the cones that the fielding team stands behind. The fielding team has to make sure they stand behind a cone and they can not move until both balls are hitten. This game was really fun and I enjoyed it.

L.I To listen and follow instructions.
Today we went to kiwi sport to play some soft ball. When we started the actual lesson we had to buddy up with a partner, once we budded up with someone else we had to g and stand in front of the cone. We got our softball and we practiced throwing it, we had to throw it with the hand we were comfortable with. Then with our other hand we had to point it to our buddy to get a prefect throw. Once we finished practicing we went onto our next activity. The next activity was where we had to be a crocodile, a crab, and a monkey. We had to be certain animals and try to roll and catch the ball. Lastly we went onto our final activity. The final activity was called "Fly Ball." What we had to do was we had to throw the ball up in the air while our buddy tries to catch it. We then went onto the second phrase of fly ball, We had to throw the ball as high as we can in the air while our buddy tries to do as much claps as they can. It was pretty fun doing soft ball and I surprised myself that I could actually play it.
I learned by listening and following instruction. Also trying my hardest and having fun.

LI: To do more badminton.
Today at kiwi sport it was the last session of badminton with Kevin. We just played games for kiwi sport today. First was the warm up game which was octopus. I did good and enjoyed my time. Next Kevin taught us to do a trick called truck. It was a trick where you turn your racket with having the shuttle falling. Next we played one ins and outs and two ins and outs. One ins and outs it where you are versing some else by your own. It is a 1v1. I didn't really do good but I enjoyed my time. Then we played two ins and outs. Two ins and outs it a 2v2 with you and your buddy versing someone else that in a buddy. I did good but not that good, though I enjoyed my time.
I learned by listening and having fun and making thanking Kevin for teaching us about badminton.

LI: To do more badminton.
Today at kiwi sport we did badminton. At badminton we first played a warm up game. The warm up game was stuck in the mud. There was two taggers and everyone else had to get to one side to the other. When we finished playing stuck in the mud Kevin told us to come and sit down. He then told us a new skill. The new skill was the backhand lift. When he told us the new skill he then let us go and buddy up so we can try out the backhand lift. One person got the shuttle and the other got the racket, we then went to look for somewhere in the hall for us to try out the backhand lift. I was catching and my partner was doing the backhand lift.is Then we played a game. The game was one in's and out's. It is a game where there is one person from a pair versing another person from a different pair, and the first one to one wins. Then we played two in's and out's. Two player in's and out's is like one player in's and out's, but with you and your buddy together, the first one to two wins.
I learned by getting a buddy then playing the games and having fun.

LI: To learn and practice more while doing badminton.
Today at kiwi sport I did badminton. Badminton is where you have a racket and a shuttle (Which is what you use to hit on the racket.) We first had a warm up game. The warm up game was called "infinity tag" or "Continues tag." Its where everyone is it and whoever tags a person they have to sit down. If you tag each other at the same time then you have to do rock paper scissors. Then we did badminton but today we paired up and hit the shuttle to eachother. I didn't do really great but I gave it my best try.
I learned by giving it my best with my partner and working together. The amount of hits we both got in total was fourteen.

LI: To play more badminton and try to get better at badminton.
Today at kiwi sport we did badminton. We were taught by Kevin (A master at badminton.) Kevin is amazing at badminton trick shots and other things. Kevin taught us how to use a racket and a shuttle. A shuttle is something you hit on the racket. Kevin taught us trick shots and how to hold the racket. Forehand and backhand.
I learned by listing and try my best at using the racket to hit the shuttle.

LI: To throw a show put ball with the right actions.
Today at kiwi sport Andy showed us how to throw a show put ball. A show put ball is mostly made out of metal of wood, but ours wasn't. It was soft but if you get hit by it then it will hurt a lot. We first action we had to do was "Chin knee toe, all in a row." Then "Low to high, watch it fly!" Then we threw our show put ball.
I learned by doing the right actions and trying my best to throw the ball as far as I could. It was really fun doing this at kiwi sport.

LI: To get fit so I can jump over the pole.
Today at kiwi sport we played a game called “Valleys and Volcanoes”. In that game we were put into two teams. I was valleys. We had to flip the cones over from volcanoes to valleys. So if I flipped over a volcano it would have to land upside down. Volcanoes will have the cones upright. Next we learned how to do high jumps so we can jump over the pole. We had to jump sideways using the “Scissor Kick”. When we finished practising we did high jumps sideways using the scissor kick. When we did we had to go to the other side so we can do it with both legs. We also had to do leg to arm, so if I was doing right leg it would mean right arm to right leg.
I learned by listening to Andy and following what she says. It was also really fun practising the scissor kick since I was new to it.
