Fire Station Visit

LI: To learn more about fire fighters.

Today we went to the fire station. We had to make sure hat we had a sunhat, go to the toilet, then have a drink of water. The walk was fifteen minuets long, also there was high place like hills we had to get over which was a lot of work for our legs along with having to walk for fifteen minuets. When we finally arrived at the fire station we sat down on the concrete. As we sat down we saw three fire fighters standing in a line. The first one (Which was the leader of the rest of the fire fighters) greeted us and talked to us of what they do and other things they also did time to time. Then soon the fourth fire men came in. The leader said that it's just the four of them in a crew together.

We soon asked them some questions about how long they have been doing the job and if they have a helicopter. Later on we were able to go outside, when we did we saw the fire truck there. We sat down while one of the fire fighters was dressing up to show us what you need to dress up in the costume and what to put on. First he put on heavy looking boots. The boots also came with the pants. Then he out on his jacket. Soon he put on his tank so he can breathe while saving people. Then he put on a hood, the hood is called a "Flash Hood." Then his helmet.

After that they talked to us about the fire truck and all of the things that is inside it. We also went to the other side of the truck to see how the other equipment. After they talked to us about the truck we got to see four people use the fire hose. It was just like target practice too. Our targets was the broken cars and the tree. Then our teacher got a try. He aimed it high almost hitting the top of the tower. Then we saw the fire hose that was on top of the truck. The hose was able to go really high and it hit the top of the tower. Then the fire station visit finally came to an end.

I learned by listening and making sure I understand things about fire fighters. The whole fire station visit was about an hour long.
